The Vanguard PRO STRAP is a professional single camera shoulder harness designed for photographers who need to carry a heavier professional camera or lens for extended periods. Spreading the weight across the shoulder to protect the neck, and ready for immediate use.
Comfortable Support For Extended Shoots
Carrying a heavier camera kit for several hours can place considerable strain on the neck and the PRO STRAP uses a padded shoulder section and adjustable underarm strap to spread the load across the upper body and help keep the harness stable while you walk, work or change position.
The strap length can be adjusted to suit the photographer and the equipment being carried, allowing each camera to rest at a comfortable height against the hip. This keeps your camera within easy reach while helping prevent it from swinging excessively as you move.
Adjustable cam buckles can be used to control the position of the camera. Particularly useful when walking between locations, bending down or working in crowded environments, helping to keep expensive equipment in position until it is needed.
The camera is attached using Vanguard’s Quick Detach Locking System. This is a universal Arca compatible quick release connection that allows you to choose the most comfortable setup for your shoot with ease
The Quick Detach Locking System splits into three sections. The system includes an Arca compatible QS-38H quick release plate (or you can use your own Arca compatible plate) that attaches to the thread in the base of your camera. There is an additional locking screw in this quick release plate, but if you choose to use this, please take care not to damage the base of your camera.
There is then a slim, lightweight clamp that locks onto the base of the quick release plate, in the same way as you would attach the quick release plate to an Arca compatible tripod. This also includes a safety pin that adds security in case the clamp is not properly tightened, though please note that it is designed to work with the Vanguard quick release plates provided and may not work effectively with other brands quick release plates.
This clamp then attaches to the PRO STRAP using the aluminium strap connector with a push button connection system for quick attachment and release, while delivering a secure hold that is rated to 150kg based on Vanguard’s vertical hanging test, or 30kg when dropped 25cm. *
Additional Camera Security
A Connect Safety Tether is supplied to provide a secondary connection between the harness and the camera to add another layer of security and reassurance when carrying valuable professional camera and lens combinations.
The Connect Safety Tether is attached with the Connect Tether attached to the camera strap eyelet. This can then be attached and released from the Connect Clip DLX with ease, while helping keep your valuable camera safe. This tether system is rated to 90kg based on Vanguard’s vertical hanging test, or 20kg when dropped 25cm. *
Choose The Best Option For Your Shot
Having the ability to bring your camera into position in an instant is the core role of the PRO STRAP. Simply move the front cam buckle up the strap to allow the camera to be raised easily and you’re good to go.
Sometimes the harness strap can limit your movement, especially in fast moving environments. The PRO STRAP allows you to release the camera from the harness in seconds. Simply press in the two buttons on the aluminium strap connector and unclip the Connect Tether from the Connect Clip DLX. This allows you full, unrestrained movement to follow the action. To reattach, simple press in the buttons and clip the camera back into the aluminium strap connector and reattach the Connect Tether.
Alternatively you may want to use a tripod, whether it’s for a group shot or a long lens. Simply loosen the clamp onto your Arca compatible quick shoe and the camera is ready to attach to your tripod.

- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
