Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to register my drone in the UK?

Do I need to register my drone in the UK?

Before flying, check the latest requirements from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Many camera drones require an Operator ID, and depending on the drone and how you fly it, you may also need a Flyer ID. Regardless of whether registration is required, all drone pilots must follow the UK Drone Code. Register here and read the full guidance here.

What should I look for in a beginner drone?

What should I look for in a beginner drone?

Look for obstacle avoidance, return-to-home and stable hovering. The DJI Mini and Neo ranges are among the most popular starting points, balancing image quality with genuine safety features. Buying a used drone is also a cost-effective way to get started.

Can drone cameras shoot RAW photos?

Can drone cameras shoot RAW photos?

Yes. RAW capture is available on many mid-range and advanced models, including the DJI Mini 5 Pro and selected DJI Air and Mavic drones. Always check the individual product specifications, as availability varies between models.

Should I buy extra batteries?

Should I buy extra batteries?

Almost always. Most drone batteries provide around 20 to 40 minutes of flight time per charge. A Fly More Combo bundles extra batteries, a charging hub and useful accessories at better value than buying them separately.

What accessories do I actually need?

What accessories do I actually need?

We recommend starting with a spare battery, an ND filter for smoother-looking video in bright conditions and a high-speed memory card to keep pace with 4K video and RAW image capture. A dedicated carry case also helps protect your drone during transport.
